The M12 Source Controller combines a Bricasti digital-to-analog converter with an analog preamplifier. Alongside its digital inputs it has one set of balanced and unbalanced analog inputs for a phono stage, tape machine or tuner.
The converter is built on the M1 design and uses the MDx processor. PCM is converted by a 24-bit delta-sigma DAC. DSD has its own 1-bit converter, designed in-house, with filtering and level control carried out in the analog domain.
Volume is set by a digitally controlled, fully balanced dual mono resistor ladder at the output of the DAC's I-V stage, over 90 dB in 1 dB steps, and is remote controlled and programmable. Three medical-grade power supplies feed the left analog channel, the right analog channel, and the digital and analog processing.
Supplied with the network player and remote control.
