The M20 is a fully differential, dual mono Class A line preamplifier, built on the analog design of Bricasti's M12. Three linear power supplies feed the two analog channels and the digital control processor separately.
Volume is set by a discrete ladder of digitally controlled resistors in 1 dB steps, using an R-2R technique, with Vishay foil resistors in key positions. The output buffers are Bricasti's own discrete design, the circuit boards are ceramic, and all switching and output muting is done with logic-controlled relays.
There are two balanced XLR inputs and one unbalanced RCA input. The three outputs, two XLR and one RCA, are buffered separately, which suits bi-amping or two or three zones. Input names and level offsets are set from the menu, and a 5 V trigger output switches Bricasti amplifiers and DACs in and out of standby. Stillpoints isolation feet are included.
Finishes: Classic anodized black, Argento clear aluminum, or Platinum with brass fittings.
