The Musicbook POWER 1000 II is the larger of Lindemann’s two Musicbook power amplifiers — the same high-performance Class-A-D design, with an analogue voltage stage and an N-Core power buffer, scaled up to 2 x 500 watts into 4 ohms and more than 30 amps of current. In Lindemann’s own words, for speakers with very low efficiency or impedance the Musicbook POWER 1000 is the better choice.

The extra current is the reason it exists. Where a loudspeaker’s impedance drops or its sensitivity is low, that reserve of current is what keeps the sound composed at volume — the same speed, dynamics, transparency and low-bass authority as the smaller version, with more headroom underneath. Distortion stays below 0.003 percent and frequency response runs from 1 Hz to 50 kHz. It comes in the same 280 x 220 x 63 mm case, weighing 3.4 kg, with a balanced XLR input and 4 mm safety connectors for the loudspeakers.

Partnered with the Musicbook SOURCE II, it makes a compact system that behaves like a far larger one when the loudspeakers ask for it. For a demanding pair — low impedance, low sensitivity, or simply a large room — the POWER 1000 II is the version to reach for.
