Building on the success of the Nagra Streamer introduced in 2024, the Compact Player adds a high-performance D/A stage in the same compact chassis — a complete digital source in a single, beautifully machined box.

The Compact Player is the all-in-one sibling of the Nagra Streamer. Where the Streamer is a streaming transport designed to feed an external Nagra D/A converter via N-Link or S/PDIF, the Compact Player carries the conversion stage on board — the same network engine and the same chassis as the Streamer, with a dual-mono analog output stage built in for direct connection to your preamplifier.

The chassis is the same Nagra-VII-derived compact format as the Streamer and Compact Phono — precisely CNC machined from a solid billet of aluminum, rugged and rigid, sized to be as large as necessary but no larger. It sits comfortably in any equipment rack, close to your network electronics if needed, and connects to the rest of your system via a single pair of RCA outputs.

The streaming side is everything Nagra introduced with the Streamer in 2024 and has since refined. Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect and Spotify Connect cover the major services natively. Roon Ready and Roon Tested certification, JPLAY support, and Audirvāna compatibility cover the audiophile-server world. Local file playback runs over UPnP/DLNA or directly from a USB drive. AirPlay 2 and vTuner radio fill in the everyday corners. Native bit-perfect playback supports PCM up to 384 kHz / 32-bit and DSD256 (11.2 MHz). Control is handled through the mConnect app and through the native control apps of each streaming service.

The conversion side is what differentiates the Compact Player from the Streamer. The dual-mono analog output stage is built around a high-performance DAC chipset selected and optimized through Nagra's own clock, power-supply and PCB-layout engineering — the hallmarks of every Nagra digital product. Noise floor sits at –140 dB A-weighted; THD+N at 0.04% at 1 kHz, –3 dBFS; output impedance at 14 ohms. The result, in the words of the Nagra design team, is a fluid, natural presentation with the smooth, analog-like character that has come to define Nagra's digital lineup.

The Compact Player is the complete digital source for the customer who wants the Nagra signature in a single box, with the option to upgrade later by adding the Compact PSU power supply or the Compact VFS isolation platform from the same Compact-line family. It pairs naturally with Alma's existing Nagra Compact-line stack — the Streamer above it as a transport-only sibling, the Compact Phono for vinyl, and the Compact PSU for power — but it is system-agnostic, working with any high-end preamplifier or integrated amplifier you already own.
