EMT JSD Novel Titan Cartridge

The JSD Novel Titan is the silver-coil expression of EMT's Novel Technology — the same multi-layer core transducer as the Novel Gold, wound with pure 4N silver in a titanium body.

The transducer is EMT's 2021-generation multi-layer core. The cantilever is a two-material assembly — a titanium carrier enclosing the sapphire needle beam — engineered to hold torsional stiffness while damping the resonances a single-material cantilever tends to store and release. The stylus is an MR HP diamond, high-polish multi-radius profile.

The coil is pure 4N silver — the traditional metal of the reference moving-coil cartridge, chosen for a fast, open, resolving voice. The magnet is AlNiCo, gold-plated. The body is titanium with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating, a combination the cartridge designer reaches for when energy dissipation through the body itself is a primary target. In practice, the Titan reads quieter around the note — the recovery back to silence between notes is faster, and the space between instruments opens accordingly.

Output is 1 mV at 5 cm/s. Coil impedance is 2 × 16 Ω per channel. Recommended load is 100 to 200 ohms. Tracking force is 2.1 grams, weight 13 grams — considerably lighter than the Novel Gold, and easier to partner with a wider range of tonearms. Compliance is 12 µm/mN.
