EMT TSD SFL Cartridge

The TSD SFL is the traditional EMT stereo Tondose generator with a Super-Fine-Line diamond and an aluminium cantilever — the closest current production comes to the broadcast Tondose EMT installed in studios worldwide from the 1980s forward.

The SFL profile — Super-Fine-Line, an EMT-introduced diamond shape from 1984 — is the correct answer for a stereo cartridge that will track modern LPs across a long service life without the price and complexity of a multi-radius stylus. The cantilever is aluminium. The body is the 2020-revision solid-magnesium Tondose.

Output transfer level is 0.21 mV/cm. Coil impedance is 2 × 24 Ω. Recommended load is 200 to 300 ohms. Tracking force is 2.5 grams. Weight is 17.5 grams. Compliance is 12 µm/mN. Frequency response is 20 to 25,000 Hz, with the ±2 dB broadcast window from 40 to 12,500 Hz.
