Yamaha has been building concert halls, instruments, and electronics since 1887 — and that depth of acoustic authority shows in the R-N2000A. This is a full-featured stereo network receiver designed to serve as the centerpiece of a serious two-channel system: a toroidal power transformer feeds a floating, symmetrical amplifier stage rated at 90 W per channel into 8 ohms, 145 W into 4, with headroom that can swing to 215 W into 2 ohms dynamically. It is not a lifestyle device dressed up in audiophile clothing. The mechanical ground concept — a rigid, multi-layer chassis engineered to eliminate resonance at the structural level — and the pure-brass speaker terminals machined from solid stock are the kind of details that Yamaha carries forward from its professional-audio heritage, not marketing add-ons.
The R-N2000A is also where analog precision and modern network convenience meet without compromise. The ESS SABRE ES9026PRO Ultra DAC handles conversion across every digital source: optical, coaxial, USB-B direct-connect (DSD 11.2 MHz native, up to 384 kHz PCM), Wi-Fi streaming, Ethernet, Bluetooth (SBC/AAC), and AirPlay 2. Streaming services — Amazon Music HD, Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, and others via MusicCast — play at their maximum resolution without transcoding. YPAO-R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) measures your room with a supplied microphone and applies precision EQ and delay correction to each speaker channel, so the receiver adapts to your listening space rather than requiring you to adapt around it. Pure Direct mode bypasses the digital signal path and tone controls entirely for the cleanest possible analog signal chain when the source warrants it.
The VU-style level meters are not nostalgia for its own sake — they give you a real-time read on the dynamics of whatever you are playing, and they look exactly right on a component of this caliber. HDMI ARC brings the same quality amplification to your television's audio output. The R-N2000A is also Roon Tested, so it integrates cleanly into a Roon ecosystem without workarounds. Available in Black or Silver to match your rack.
Toroidal Power Transformer. A custom toroidal core supplies consistent, high-current power to the amplifier stage with lower stray magnetic field than conventional EI-core transformers — the foundation of the R-N2000A's dynamic headroom and low noise floor.
ESS SABRE ES9026PRO Ultra DAC. One of the most capable conversion chips in the industry handles every digital source, including DSD 11.2 MHz native and 384 kHz PCM over USB — so the DAC is never the bottleneck regardless of where the signal originates.
Floating and Balanced Amplifier, Symmetrical Construction. The power amplifier stage is mechanically decoupled from the chassis and laid out symmetrically left-to-right, minimizing crosstalk and keeping ground-plane noise out of the audio path — the same topology Yamaha applies in dedicated power amplifiers at considerably higher price points.
YPAO-R.S.C. Room Calibration. Reflected Sound Control measures your room's acoustic signature and applies speaker-by-speaker EQ and delay correction automatically — useful whether you are in a treated listening room or a real-world domestic space with asymmetric boundaries.
Mechanical Ground Concept. A rigid multi-layer chassis structure dissipates resonance at the structural level rather than relying on mass alone, translating directly into tighter, better-defined bass reproduction — the kind of detail that differentiates a receiver from a hi-fi component.
Pure Direct Mode. A dedicated bypass path removes the tone controls and DSP stages from the signal chain entirely, giving the source a direct route to the amplifier output for the minimum-intervention listening experience when the recording deserves it.
