STILL - Ethernet Isolator

A reference-grade Ethernet isolator for the streaming chain — multi-stepped galvanic isolation, switchable shield reference, and a unibody aluminum chassis hand-machined from a single billet in Sweden.

STILL, a Swedish word for quiet, calm, is AB-Tech's reference Ethernet isolator. Its job is to stop the streaming network from polluting the music. Routers, switches, Wi-Fi extenders, and the Ethernet cable itself inject electrical noise, ground-loop artifacts, and high-frequency interference into the line; that noise rides downstream into the DAC's clock and analog stages, where it shows up as a small but real loss of refinement. STILL sits in-line and removes it — galvanically isolating the upstream network from the downstream music component, blocking the electrical path noise travels on while the audio data passes through losslessly.

Construction is uncompromising in the way AB-Tech is uncompromising about everything. The chassis is milled from a single block of non-magnetic, high-grade aluminum — a unibody that does double duty as EMI/RFI shielding and thermal management. The internal assembly is suspended in a proprietary viscoelastic damping material, isolating it from mechanical vibration and microphonic energy that would otherwise modulate the signal. Two front-panel switches give the listener real control: one selects the shield reference (input or output) so the device can be tuned to where the dirty ground actually lives in your system; the other selects isolation level (loose or full) for fine-tuning to the upstream network. RJ45 connectors are high-quality throughout.

Place STILL between your network switch and your music server, or between the wall and any Ethernet-connected DAC, streamer, or Roon endpoint. It sits comfortably above AB-Tech's REN in the same family — same Swedish design language, same machining discipline, with the multi-stepped isolation topology and the user-selectable shield and isolation switches that make STILL the more flexible tool in a complex network. Designed and built in Sweden by Alexander Bladelius.
