The E-6000 is a precision integrated stereo amplifier with the highest output power in the Accuphase integrated amplifier line-up. It is a Class AB design, fully balanced from input to output, and built to drive very large speakers.

Power amplifier

Each channel has a six-fold parallel push-pull output stage of bipolar power transistors driven in Class AB, on its own large heat sink. The power amplifier circuit configuration is the same as the Accuphase P-7500 stereo power amplifier. The power stage is configured as an instrumentation amplifier, and balanced remote sensing takes feedback from close to the speaker terminals. Speaker protection uses MOS-FET switches with very low on-resistance. The power supply sits in the center of the chassis, with a large toroidal transformer and two 47,000 µF filtering capacitors.

Preamplifier

Volume is set by Balanced AAVA, with two AAVA modules per channel. AAVA produces multiple signals from the input and sets the level by changing their combination. Its current-to-voltage stage uses ANCC to cancel noise and distortion. The volume sensor is carved from a single aluminum block.

Option boards

Two rear slots take Accuphase option boards. With a DAC-60 installed, the front display shows the incoming sampling frequency. With an AD-60 installed, MC or MM and the MC load impedance are selected from the front panel.
