Bricasti M228 Dual Mono Power Amplifier

The M228 is a dual mono stereo power amplifier. Bricasti designed it to deliver the performance of two M28 monoblocks from one chassis, with two fully independent amplifier channels inside.

Each channel has its own high-current linear power supply. Output is conservatively rated at 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 400 watts into 4 ohms and 800 watts into 2 ohms, and bass stays fast and articulate even at the loudspeaker's resonance peak. The signal path is fully balanced and dual differential, and with a Bricasti converter it stays differential from source to loudspeaker.

The chassis is machined aluminum, with each component set in a purpose-designed location. Grounding and passive ventilation are arranged to spread heat evenly and keep the case cool to the touch under any load. The result is a single-chassis alternative to a pair of M28 monoblocks.
