Degritter Fonoteek Record Cleaning Machine

Fonoteek combines brush cleaning and ultrasonic cleaning in one machine. A cleaning run is built from four elements: a brush wash with ultrasonic cleaning, a pure ultrasonic cycle, a rinse with ultrasonic assistance, and drying. Programs run from 6 to 30 minutes.

Three presets are supplied: Quick at 8:40, Detailing at 13:20 on ultrasonic cleaning alone, and Extensive at 26:40 with longer brush and ultrasonic cycles followed by a long soak in rinse water. Two custom programs, C1 and C2, set the length of each segment individually.

Brushes

Two patent-pending Archimedes brushes take larger dirt off the surface while the ultrasonic field works the depth of the groove. They retract when idle, and tension is set with an adjustment screw on each brush arm, to the lightest force that still holds contact across the record surface.

Water, filtration and drying

Two removable 3-litre tanks sit in the tank compartment. Tank 1 holds the wash water, distilled water with 4 ml of Degritter cleaning fluid. Tank 2 holds pure distilled water for rinsing, kept clean by two BRITA C50 activated carbon filters. A large water cooling system holds the temperature down, so ultrasonic cycles can run back to back. Two air blades then dry the record with filtered, particle-free airflow, at a fan power you set.

Operation

The interface is two buttons. The display shows the active program, segment progress, water temperature and time remaining. The machine tracks its own service intervals and raises reminders for brushes, filters and cleaning.

Supplied with two water tanks, power cable, replacement brushes, two BRITA C50 filters, Degritter Cleaning Fluid, Degritter Machine Cleaning Fluid, SD card and user manual. Fonoteek runs on purified water, distilled or deionized. Records smaller than 12 inches require adapters suitable for Fonoteek.
