The TSD SPH is the Tondose stereo cartridge with a 15-micron spherical diamond — the profile that was general practice in stereo cartridge design before 1980, kept in current production for the listener whose collection is anchored in the earlier era of stereo LP.
The rationale is not nostalgia. A spherical stylus tracks the groove modulation an early stereo cutter drew for it — and it does so without the audible mismatch a modern line-contact profile can introduce on grooves that were never cut to be tracked that way. The cantilever is aluminium. The body is the 2020-revision solid-magnesium Tondose.
Output transfer level is 0.21 mV/cm. Coil impedance is 2 × 24 Ω. Recommended load is 200 to 300 ohms. Tracking force is 2.5 grams. Weight is 17.5 grams. Compliance is 12 µm/mN. Frequency response is 20 to 20,000 Hz, with the ±2 dB broadcast window from 40 to 12,500 Hz.
Three mount options: EMT Standard, INT, X.
