Falcon Acoustics F50 Bookshelf Speakers

The Falcon B110 is a new-production drive unit built to Malcolm Jones's original KEF specifications, and Falcon is the only maker of it. It is the unit the F50 is built around.

The F50 is a classic British two-way ported standmount. It uses matched pairs of Falcon 5" B110 bass-midrange units with a customised SEAS 19TFF1 soft dome tweeter. The bass unit is rear-ported, a format Falcon describes as well known for producing good results from smaller cabinets. The crossover is at 3 kHz, 12 dB on the woofer and 18 dB on the tweeter.

The cabinet is handmade in a specialist factory in Italy, the same facility that produces the enclosures for Falcon's Gold Badge LS3/5a. It is built from high-grade MDF and finished in natural wood veneer, with a magnetic grille.
