Hz LAN Isolator — Network-Audio Noise Rejection

A network-audio noise-rejection device for the streaming chain — galvanic isolation between your network and your DAC or music server, in a hand-machined aluminum body the size of a deck of cards.

Streaming audio sounds as good as the network feeding it. Routers, switches, and Wi-Fi extenders inject electrical noise and high-frequency interference into the Ethernet line; that noise rides downstream into the DAC's clock and analog stages, where it shows up as a small but real loss of refinement. The Hz LAN Isolator is HzProject's purpose-built answer: a passive in-line device that galvanically isolates the upstream network from the downstream music component, blocking the electrical path noise travels on while passing the music data losslessly.

The construction is what you'd expect from HzProject. The body is milled from two solid pieces of non-magnetic, high-grade aluminum — small, dense, machined cleanly. Inside sit three filtering cells: two complementary cells positioned upstream and downstream of a central 2.5G Base-T isolation transformer, with a shielded modular jack carrying gold-plated contacts. No external power supply is required; the device draws what little it needs from the Ethernet signal itself, in line with Power-over-Ethernet conventions. A 30-centimeter shielded CAT 6 cable is included in the box for the immediate downstream connection.

Place it between your network switch and your music server, or between your Wi-Fi extender and your DAC. It pairs naturally with the HzCORE music server — the same engineering vocabulary, the same component-level isolation discipline — but the LAN Isolator is system-agnostic: any Ethernet-connected DAC, streamer, or Roon endpoint benefits from cleaner network audio at the input. Reviewer Lionel Schmitt called it "a highly recommendable product" in his 2024 audiophile.fr evaluation, noting "vocals express themselves naturally with superb freedom" once it's installed.
