The NET3 is Innuos' audiophile network switch for the enthusiast tier — the network foundation Innuos builds for systems anchored by the STREAM3. Innuos describes it as "the natural successor to our acclaimed PhoenixNET," sized and finished to live beside the STREAM3 on the same shelf.
Built around the STREAM3
The chassis is CNC-machined aluminium, dimensioned to perfectly match the STREAM3. Visually and physically, NET3 and STREAM3 are conceived as one stack. The full-sized chassis and power supply philosophy that defines Innuos at every tier is preserved here — the NET3 does not concede space, mass or supply quality to fit a smaller form factor.
WaveNET, trickled down from the flagship
Inside is the WaveNET board, the network architecture introduced on Innuos' flagship NazaréNET and now brought down a tier. The board introduces fibre connectivity through an SFP port, and — in Innuos' own words — "greater isolation from the noise modern networks carry." For a household where the streamer and the rest of the audio chain are sharing a network with phones, cameras, work laptops and a router that was chosen by the ISP, this is the layer that decides how much of that activity ends up at the DAC.
Where NET3 sits in a system
Between your router and your streamer. Its job is to give the streamer a quiet, well-isolated port to draw from, and to give you the option — via the SFP fibre input — of breaking the electrical path back to the router entirely. Innuos positions NET3 as "where enthusiast systems find their network foundation" — the answer for the listener whose system has outgrown a consumer switch but who is building around STREAM3 rather than the statement tier.
