IsoTek V5 Syncro Uni 10 DC Blocker

Syncro Uni 10 is the standalone version of the DC-blocking technology built into the Syncro power cable — the same electronic circuit, packaged in a compact ten-amp chassis so it can be inserted anywhere on the mains chain rather than only at the plug end of a specific cable. That flexibility is the point.

The circuit senses the DC offset riding on the mains sine wave and rebalances the waveform on the zero-volts line so the downstream component's transformer sees a symmetric AC signal. Transformers do not saturate; the low-frequency mechanical hum they produce under DC load stops. On systems where a phono stage, a preamp, or an integrated with a large toroidal transformer buzzes audibly through the chassis, that hum simply disappears once the Syncro Uni 10 goes upstream of it.

The V5 iteration is a sixty-per-cent step up in current handling from the prior generation. Ten amps of input rating on the IEC C14 inlet, with a sixteen-amp internal peak current capacity for inrush events, filtering up to four volts of DC. Multi-strand 6N oxygen-free copper silver-plated internal wiring with Teflon FEP dielectric. Fully star-earthed, so it drops into any existing IsoTek stack without disturbing the reference. Can be used independently upstream of a single component or combined with a V5 conditioner further downstream. Available in black or silver anodised finish, in a 1.5-kilogram chassis measuring 250 by 100 by 85 millimetres.
