Syncro Uni 16 is the high-current sibling of Syncro Uni 10 — the same DC-cancelling circuit, engineered for the amplification side of the rack. The step up is architectural rather than incremental. A sixteen-amp input rating on the IEC C20 inlet, a thirty-two-amp internal peak current capability for inrush events on large amplifiers, and one hundred and sixty-nine thousand microfarads of internal capacitance — a two hundred and sixty per cent current-capability increase over the prior generation, with the corresponding reduction in impedance that lets the block sit upstream of a serious power amplifier without becoming a dynamic bottleneck.
That is the deliberate design goal. IsoTek's claim on the Uni 16 is no loss in dynamics or bass reproduction — a DC blocker that solves transformer hum on a large integrated or a monoblock without softening the dynamic delivery. It filters up to four volts of DC on the mains, dampens the mechanical hum a saturating transformer would otherwise transmit through the chassis, and reduces heat generation in the transformer core in the process. Thermomagnetic fusing delivers what IsoTek measures as a thousand-per-cent performance improvement over conventional fusing on transient events.
Fully star-earthed, so it drops into an existing IsoTek stack without breaking the reference. Multi-strand 6N oxygen-free copper silver-plated internal wiring with Teflon FEP dielectric. Available in black or silver anodised finish, in a 2-kilogram chassis. The right tool when the amplifier is what hums.
