Quadraspire Q60 Nextel Speaker Stands

What you place your loudspeakers on will affect their performance. The Q60 Nextel Speaker Stand applies the same materials and acoustic-tuning thinking Quadraspire has refined across its rack line — solid bamboo, solid steel base and top plate, adjustable raw-aluminum spikes — to the support of the most resonance-sensitive component in any system: the loudspeaker.

The Q60 is a Q6014-design speaker stand with a solid-bamboo center column, steel base and top plate, and four adjustable raw-aluminum spikes. The Nextel finish is the black-coated version of the same stand — Nextel is a fine, low-reflective textured coating used on professional camera bodies and aerospace optical hardware, and on this stand it produces a quiet, near-matte black surface that reads as visual restraint in a room where the speaker is the centerpiece. It is the right stand for a stand-mounted loudspeaker up to 22cm (8.66") wide. Sold as a pair.

Main Features

Solid Bamboo Centre Column. The same solid bamboo ply Quadraspire uses for shelf material throughout the rack line — under the Nextel coating in this version. Bamboo suppresses vibration cleanly; it does not ring like glass or metal.

Nextel Coating. Nextel is the black-textured coating Quadraspire uses for the Nextel finish on the X-Reference Signature's X-shelves. On the Q60 it produces a low-reflectivity black surface that reads as visual restraint and disappears beneath the loudspeaker.

Solid Steel Base and Top Plate. The base and top plate are solid steel — mass where mass earns its place in a stand, both for stability and for low-frequency control beneath the loudspeaker.

Adjustable Raw-Aluminum Spikes. Four adjustable spikes for level adjustment on real floors and decoupling from the floor surface. Aluminum, not steel, on the same logic the rack columns use — aluminum has much less resonance than steel.

Top Plate, Standard or Large. Two top-plate sizes are offered: Standard at 140mm (5") and Large at 180mm (7"). The Standard 140mm (5") plate suits compact monitors and slim two-ways; the Large 180mm (7") plate accommodates wider mid-size monitors and larger stand-mounts. Both support speakers up to 22cm (8.66") wide; the Large plate gives a broader contact patch and a more visually balanced presentation under physically larger monitors.
