Quadraspire X-Reference HiFi Racks

What you place your HiFi on will affect its performance. Placing your HiFi on a Quadraspire performance HiFi rack will help reduce resonance, lower the noise floor, and open the soundstage to make your HiFi sound even better.

The X-Reference is the premium tier of the Quadraspire line — built around 44mm (1.73") curved solid-aluminum columns and the brand's lightweight high-strength X-shelf, with bronze spikes underfoot. It sits one rung below the X-Reference Signature, sharing the same chassis architecture, and one rung above the SV-line racks. Each X-shelf weighs only 2.2kg (4.85 lb) while supporting more than 80kg (176 lb) of equipment. Available in 2-5 shelf configurations.

Main Features

X-Shelf Performance. Designed to be ultra lightweight whilst maintaining strength, the X-shelf is 2.2kg (4.85 lb) but can hold over 80kg (176 lb). The X-Reference uses the same X-shelf platform as the X-Reference Signature; the difference between the two racks is finish, not structure.

Bronze Spikes. It's no coincidence that a lot of musical instruments use brass and bronze. Quadraspire's research and design found that bronze and brass are good materials for reducing resonance — the X-Reference comes with bronze spikes as standard. The columns and feet in our racks are made from solid aluminium, not tubular, to dissipate energy quickly.

Solid Aluminum Columns, 44mm (1.73"). Steel tube can resonate and distort sound. Aluminum has much less resonance, so Quadraspire uses it instead for all columns and feet. The X-Reference's 44mm (1.73") SV columns are available in Black or Raw Aluminium, in heights of 200mm (7.87"), 250mm (9.84"), 300mm (11.81"), 350mm (13.78"), and 400mm (15.75").

Solid Bamboo Ply. Some shelf materials, like glass, resonate and can distort the sound of your system. As a result of extensive testing of different materials, Quadraspire uses solid bamboo ply that suppresses vibrations and is also carbon neutral. Available bamboo finishes: Natural, Dark, Cherry, and Black.

Designed to Avoid Parallel Lines. Parallel lines on rectangular shelves encourage resonance which can distort sound. Where possible, Quadraspire avoids parallel lines in the same way as most musical instrument designs.

X-Reference vs. X-Reference Signature. The two racks share the same 44mm (1.73") column architecture, the same X-shelf, the same bamboo finishes, and the same bronze-spike footer convention. The Signature adds a choice of two Nextel-finished X-shelves (Black Nextel and Orange Nextel) and a higher-grade bronze-foot specification. The standard X-Reference is the same instrument with the standard finish.
