The geometry is simple and unforgiving: a longer arm traces a shallower arc across the record, dramatically reducing tracking error angle from outer groove to inner. Less tracking error means less distortion, and on inner grooves — where most arms struggle most — the difference is clearly audible. The tonearm's internal wiring is pure silver throughout, from cartridge pins to output, preserving every microvolt of your cartridge's signal with zero compromise.
A Cartridge Born for This Arm Paired exclusively with this tonearm is the EMT Tondose 124 Exclusive, developed by Switzerland's EMT Tontechnik — a name that carries enormous weight in professional broadcast audio. Inspired by the legendary Tondose used in European radio studios alongside the original TD 124, this new version was engineered specifically for the geometry and effective mass of the 12-inch TP 124. The result is exceptional channel separation, dynamic authority, and resolution that reveals details in your records you may never have heard before. A ruby cantilever, Gyger-cut stylus, pure gold coil wire, and SME connector complete a cartridge that is, by any measure, a serious instrument. The Foundation: Proven, Powerful, Pure Beneath it all is the same high-precision direct-drive motor that powers the TD 124 DD — high torque, perfectly stable speed, and vanishingly low wow and flutter. In the Exclusive, that motor is fed by the TPN 124 linear power supply, which is included in the box. No switching noise, no line artifacts — just clean, stable power delivering everything the motor is capable of. A pure copper platter support layer further enhances acoustic coupling between platter and record, reducing resonance for exceptional sonic precision.
Built to Last a Lifetime The height-adjustable aluminum chassis rests on vibration-damping elastomer isolation elements that mirror the original TD 124's famous rubber mushroom isolators, shielding your playback from the real world. Gold-plated RCA outputs and balanced XLR connections offer full flexibility for connecting to any phono stage or high-end system — no compromises at the output, either.
